Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Overview

Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive planning, design, and construction management services to water, sewer and utility districts; departments of transportation; and municipalities. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our connection of clients and community.

• Preparation of reports, construction plans, and technical specifications for projects
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior team member; assist with engineering calculations, drawings, and visual aids
• Perform site visits and field observations before and during construction
• Conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds when needed
• Follow corporate quality procedures
• Collaborate with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians and planners
• Ensure projects comply with local regulations and safety standards
• Maintain proper documentation of projects, including design changes, reports, and test results
• Stay updated on industry standards, building codes, and software advancements
• Take initiative to learn new skills or technologies that improve project efficiency or design

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microstation
• 1+ years of experience providing engineering design for storm water, wastewater, transportation, and/or site development projects
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Course work in water resources, transportation, or relevant coursework
• EIT or PE preferred
