ESL Instructor

Overview

We are seeking a qualified ESL Instructor (Independent Contractor) to deliver engaging English language instruction to employees at multiple facilities within driving distance of each other. This role is structured as a 1099 contract engagement. As such, the instructor will operate as an independent professional, responsible for managing their own schedule, materials, and methods while collaborating with company leadership to support workforce development goals.

• Provide English as a Second Language instruction at multiple facilities within driving distance.
• Design and deliver lesson plans, activities, and assessments tailored to employees’ workplace communication needs.
• Use interactive, learner-centered teaching strategies to build confidence and fluency.
• Track attendance and learner progress and provide summary reports as requested.
• Collaborate with company representatives to align instruction with organizational language needs.
• Create a respectful, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment for diverse adult learners.
• Maintain professional development in adult ESL best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Education preferred.
• TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification strongly preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching ESL to adult learners (workplace or vocational setting a plus).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and workplace literacy.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites, schedules, and groups of learners.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and travel regularly between facilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic learning technology (e.g., Zoom, learning management platforms).

Salary Range

USD $25.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.
