transfer instructions for current jcps teachers: at this time, current teachers applying for a transfer will be considered to fill the position in february 2026. Transfer requests will not be considered after 8/8/2025. For more information, refer to article 16 of the jcta contract.

scope of responsibilities: plans, organizes, and delivers the program of instruction based on approved curriculum; monitors, evaluates, and communicates student progress; maintains records and makes reports; enforces board policies, regulations, and rules; supervises students, and secures and maintains school property and materials.

• kentucky certification and endorsements appropriate to the technical program assignment.
• successful and appropriate occupational experiences and academic preparation approved and required by the board and kentucky administrative regulations.
• effective communication skills.

• experience in a diverse workplace.

• applicant must be a u.s. Citizen with a high school diploma or ged.
• four (4) years of successful and appropriate occupational experience in the teaching area. A maximum of one (1) year of the required work experience may be satisfied by completion of an accredited occupational preparation program for the occupation to be taught.
• at least two (2) years of occupational experience completed within the last five (5) years.

• hold a professional teaching certification for the appropriate course code as listed under (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
• or
• meet occupation-based teaching requirements (see attached occ based cte requirements and hiring procedures document).

16 kar 2:020 occupation-based career and technical education certification. Issuance of one-year provisional certificate; completion of three (3) semester hours of credit in the occupational area, or successfully completing the new teacher institute (nti).

additional training may be required. note: interested candidates must complete both the jcps employment application and the attached "ca-3 form" document. If the ca-3 form is not completed, the application will be considered incomplete.
