Latin Position, Louisville Classical Academy, KY

Louisville Classical Academy is a small, independent, secular classical school located in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville. Our average class size is 9, and a full load of instruction is 4 or 5 classes per day.

We are seeking a passionate Latin teacher who also is able to teach a class of other subjects.

• Teaching leveled, immersive Latin courses to grades 3-10; as well as classes in at least one other subject to any grade 3-10.
• ~23 instructional hours with 2 hours of supervisory duties per week.
• Developing and advancing our existing curriculum to ensure its rigor and excellence.
• Maintaining classroom discipline while still promoting a love of learning.
• Frequently communicating with families concerning student progress and completing student evaluations.

Full possession of conversational Latin, a Bachelor’s degree, one year of teaching experience, and the ability to connect with students. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively are essential.

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s Degree, certification or equivalent in spoken Latin, and 3+ years teaching experience. Further, willingness to facilitating extracurricular activities are a plus.

August – May, Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
