Boys Varsity Lacrosse Defensive Coordinator

Posted 9/11/2025. Kentucky Country Day School (KCD), a JK–12 independent school located in Louisville, Kentucky, seeks a Defensive Coordinator for our Boys Varsity Lacrosse Program beginning in Spring 2026.

The Defensive Coordinator will work closely with the Head Coach and offensive staff to develop and implement a comprehensive defensive system that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and skill development. This is a seasonal, part-time coaching position with practices and games scheduled after school, evenings, and some weekends.

• Assist the Head Coach in leading all aspects of the boys' varsity lacrosse program with a specific focus on defense.
• Develop and teach defensive schemes, player positioning, and situational strategies.
• Prepare practice plans and lead defensive drills that build strong fundamentals and advanced skills.
• Provide mentorship, motivation, and leadership to student-athletes on and off the field.
• Support the program’s culture of sportsmanship, accountability, and excellence.
• Collaborate with the athletic department and lacrosse staff to ensure program alignment across all levels.

• Prior coaching experience in lacrosse, preferably at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of defensive principles, strategies, and player development.
• Ability to build relationships with student-athletes and foster a positive, competitive environment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Kentucky Country Day School.
