Position: Casual Physician - Louisville (USACE)

Casual Physician - Louisville (USACE) – Acuity International is seeking a qualified physician to provide on‑site Occupational Health Services at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clinic, Louisville. The position is casual, allowing up to 16 hours per week based on operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Review examinations and diagnostic results with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Apply contractual and regulatory guidelines to render accurate medical determinations for job eligibility, medical surveillance, and contract compliance.
  • Exercise independent judgment in decision making and maintain understanding of contract guidelines and addendums.
  • Collaborate with project manager, medical providers, nurses, and administrative staff to process determinations efficiently.
  • Submit medical determinations through the Client Access System and ensure contract and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in creating, documenting, and implementing guidelines per medical directives and contractual updates.
  • Manage workload to meet contract metrics and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
  • Identify appropriate examination protocols for job hazards, complying with client requirements and applicable laws.
  • Review medical records from occupational health exams and provide written opinions on medical suitability.
  • Document results of annual medical surveillances and conclude medical suitability for job functions.
  • Provide reports or medical opinions on suitability, consulting with corporate medical staff when needed.
  • Participate in interdepartmental projects or task forces to integrate activities and implement policy updates.
  • Offer occupational health services such as post‑offer physicals, surveillance exams, monitoring, and return‑to‑work exams.
  • Ensure clinical practices align with Acuity International standards, professional ethics, regulations, and evidence‑based principles.
  • Maintain consistent clinical practice quality.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including public speaking and fluent written English.
  • Use analytical ability to research, interpret medical information, and communicate findings to co‑workers, examinees, and clients.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least five (5) years of post‑residency clinical experience as a Physician (MD or DO).
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with an active medical license.
  • Current board certification in Preventive Medicine (Occupational, Aerospace, or Public Health & General Preventive), Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong clinical background with outpatient practice experience, including standard office‑based diagnostic testing.
  • Ability to be credentialed according to Acuity International standards and policies.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Pass background check and investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification.
  • Certified in occupational medicine.
  • Certified medical examiner on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registry.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • Requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
