Norton Childrens Development Center is seeking a developmental-behavioral pediatrician to join its team. The selected candidate would be involved in diagnostic evaluations, medication management, resource guidance, family support and genetic testing. Our physicians actively participate in the training of medical students and residents who are involved in the care of children with special health care needs. The selected candidate will hold a faculty position with the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
Our clinicians also are involved in clinical research, not only in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, but also in collaboration with other allied health professionals. Our program maintains state and local prominence through its many unique services. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.
About the position
Provide clinical care with a focus on early development and conduct assessments and follow-up visits according to evidence-based medicine.
Supervise trainees in pediatrics residency and medical school in the field of developmental and behavioral pediatrics, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review and research.
Contribute to medical and developmental evaluations and outpatient follow-up care.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care.
Partner with specialists in pediatric and developmental psychology, pediatric neurology, psychiatry, genetic counseling and other subspecialists at Norton Childrens, as well with community agencies.
Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues.
Additional details
Interest in and expertise in providing care for children with intellectual disabilities, interdisciplinary team-based care, research and medical education are highly valued.
The chosen applicant will join Norton Childrens Development Center and have the opportunity to work at Norton Childrens Autism Center.
There will be no weekend hours.
The position includes collaborating with an interdisciplinary team across Norton Childrens Medical Group, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
The position includes a faculty appointment in the growing Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, part of the UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.
This position is eligible for academic promotion in the UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.
