Overview
UofL Health and the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, KY, are recruiting an academic Anesthesiologist with a subspecialty certification in Critical Care to join its Cardiovascular Critical Care division.
CVICU ContextThe intensivists lead the multi-disciplinary Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) team at the UofL Health Heart Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. This 17-bed unit houses critically ill cardiac surgical patients, critically ill patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, heart and lung transplant recipients, and patients with unstable ascending aortic disease.
Team and Training EnvironmentThe CVICU team comprises physicians, non-physician providers, and dedicated nurses, pharmacists, and therapists. The CVICU regularly hosts medical students and post-graduate trainees from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, including Critical Care Anesthesiology fellows.
OpportunitiesOpportunities exist for teaching, research, and scholarly effort as well as clinical time in Anesthesiology. Academic rank will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience, and interest of the candidate.
Division and CollaborationThe Division of Cardiovascular Critical Care is housed in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. The multidisciplinary design of the Department engenders a collaborative relationship between its critical care and surgical members.
Qualifications- Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology
- Completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in critical care
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care
- Active medical licensure in the state of Kentucky
- Active BLS and ACLS certification
- Unrestricted DEA number
