Locum Jobs Online  is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Nephrology MD in Kentucky!
We are seeking a board-certified Nephrologist for a 14-day locum tenens assignment with our client in Kentucky. This opportunity begins on Dec 22, 2025, and offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, with light call responsibilities. The assignment focuses primarily on general nephrology cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with the majority of time spent in the hospital.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Evaluate and manage patients with high blood pressure, kidney disease related to diabetes and hypertension, polycystic kidney disease, and kidney/renal failure
• Diagnose and treat conditions such as blood or protein in urine, inflammation of the kidneys, kidney stones, and electrolyte imbalances (high or low potassium)
• Oversee dialysis and home dialysis care as needed
• Provide nephrology consultations and follow-ups in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Participate in light on-call duties as assigned

Additional Information

• Board certification in Nephrology required
• Must hold or be eligible for a Kentucky medical license
• Previous experience in general nephrology and hospital-based care preferred
