Overview

Traveling Quality Control Manager (QCM) / Construction Superintendent Dual Role FEDERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. We are seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent who can take on all the responsibilities of the Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • The Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects.
  • Ensure that all hiring practices conform with the company’s Affirmative Action plan as well as state and federal Equal Employment Opportunity laws, including without limitation, anti-discrimination and harassment laws relating to race, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, veteran status.
  • For this project, the Superintendent shall also be the designated Quality Control Manager with all the duties and qualifications needed to meet those requirements.
Quality Control Manager (QCM) Duties
  • The Quality Control Manager has overall responsibility for reporting directly to the Project Manager and Corporate Management for the verification that we meet all quality standards on our projects.
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees implementation of Construction quality control and quality assurance programs at the project level.
  • Creates, reviews, and amends Project Quality Plans to keep them current and to ensure compliance with the contract, established standards, methods, and specifications.
  • Responsible for contract compliance and the administration and implementation of the quality control system as described in the AACON Quality Control Manual for the assigned project.
  • Identifies quality control problems and recommends, initiates, and provides solutions to the problems and ensures no concealment of deficiencies.
  • Ensures that company standards, as outlined in the AACON Quality Control Manual, are effectively implemented, and provides notification to corporate management of quality problems.
  • Acts as liaison with owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required.
  • Performs, schedules, and witnesses inspections and testing. Monitors construction activities and documents results.
  • Issues reports to subcontractors regarding their quality deficiencies and remediation requirements.
  • Ensures adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.
  • Reviews work for compliance. Maintains updated contract documents, drawings, specifications, as-builts, request for information and approved submittals.
  • Inspects materials, equipment, and workmanship.
  • Develops punch lists and final inspection and acceptance.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Working Conditions

Construction setting, travel required, full time. Must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for long periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50 lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit. Must have the ability to withstand confined spaces and/or extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others.

Subject to hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions depending on location.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is desirable but not required; experience can substitute.
  • 10 years construction related experience as a working Superintendent
  • A minimum of 10 years of construction industry safety experience; federal government construction projects preferred
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • 10 years of local, state or government (federal) construction experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Proficient in QCS/RMS software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and scheduling software
  • Able to self-perform some minor scopes of work; carpentry, drywall, cleaning, demo, etc.
  • Ability to estimate projects
  • OSHA 10 or eligible to complete within the first year of employment
