Construction Materials Field Technician (Part‑Time)

  Activities:
  
  Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Testing Procedures:
  Carry out routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using industry standard methodologies.
• Data Collection:
  Perform calculations, data reduction and recording of sampling and test results; assist with drafting and other administrative duties as requested.
• Communication:
  Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians and project managers; report changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; attend project meetings as requested.
• Training and Development:
  Receive training in ECS methodology for observations, inspections, and testing; document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to gain knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers and supervisors.
