Construction Materials Field Technician (Part‑Time)

This position is based in Louisville, KY and offers a dynamic work environment where you will learn to safely perform a variety of tasks under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities- Field
Activities:
Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers. - Testing Procedures:
Carry out routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using industry standard methodologies. - Data Collection:
Perform calculations, data reduction and recording of sampling and test results; assist with drafting and other administrative duties as requested. - Communication:
Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians and project managers; report changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; attend project meetings as requested. - Training and Development:
Receive training in ECS methodology for observations, inspections, and testing; document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

Required Qualifications- No experience required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
- Willing to gain knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete and radiation safety.
- OSHA 10 certification may be required.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers and supervisors.
