Category Supervisor

Position Summary

NFI Parts™ is North America’s most comprehensive organization providing parts, technical publications, training, and support for buses and motor coaches. NFI Parts is the parts division of NFI Group, providing replacement parts for New Flyer transit buses, MCI motor coaches, ADL buses, ARBOC vehicles, as well as the product lines for the acquired NABI and Orion parts businesses. Additionally, NFI Parts has extensive cross references for parts that are common with other bus, coach, and cutaway product lines and has a mature supply base and established relationships with over 1,000 suppliers.

• Lead all aspects of the procurement process for an assigned category, including supplier performance, cost management, strategic negotiations and agreements.
• Supervise and develop Category Team members, providing leadership, performance management and coaching.
• Establish and achieve category goals such as savings targets, supplier consolidation/reduction, rebates and programs.
• Cover the buying functions/tasks as required.
• Collaborate and support the NFI Parts Sourcing team to minimize customer impact due to obsolescence and supply constraints.
• Limit and resolve ICU level escalations and minimize CCARE level escalations.
• Act as main point of contact with suppliers, building strong relationships and leveraging synergies with Production business units in the NFI Group.
• Work closely with Customer Service and Business Development to identify new business opportunities and develop supplier agreements to support new initiatives.
• Lead the Category team in monitoring and reporting of KPIs and Supplier Scorecards.
• Lead cross‑functional efforts to implement Supplier Performance programs.
• Develop and present quarterly Category Review results and observations.
• Assist in the development of category objectives for the Department annual operating plan.
• Conduct supplier site visits and attend trade shows as required.
• Work closely with supporting cross‑functional areas to ensure optimal Supply Chain performance.
• Work closely with supporting departments (Inventory Planning, Traffic and Customs, and Warehouse Operations) to ensure optimal service levels and Supply Chain performance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing.
• Prior leadership experience.
• Strong leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication, self‑motivation, and strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.
• Ability to travel 5%.
