Demand Planning Senior Manager – We are looking for a key driver in creating and managing customer and consumer demand signals, enabling the organization to align supply chain and company resources. This role is critical to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Location: Louisville, KY (Fully on-site); USA.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support for supply planners in consensus supply reviews, constrained demand reviews, stocking strategy adjustments, and warehouse move decisions.
- Lead the Consensus Demand Review for each S&OP cycle, assess market changes, and recommend revisions and tactics.
- Interact with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to interpret market trends and adjust statistical forecasts accordingly.
- Communicate cycle‑over‑cycle demand changes, MTD performance, sales rates, net new order rates, share analysis, and forecast measures. Highlight gaps and opportunities and reach agreement with business unit executives; escalates when consensus cannot be met.
- Leverage demand planning metrics/analytics to identify outliers and correct the demand plan before the next cycle.
- Be the source of information on demand, providing updates on month‑to‑date performance during S&OE meetings.
- Support new product introductions (NPIs), SKU transitions, and end‑of‑life SKUs by modeling demand with appropriate techniques.
- Support implementation of new demand‑planning technology, maintain current systems, and provide feedback for functional use cases.
- Drive continuous improvement and continuing education, recommend enhancements to business processes, and identify operational efficiencies.
- Maintain industry‑recognized certifications (IBF) and stay current on industry trends and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, or related field.
- Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
- Proven ability to drive cross‑functional, transformational changes and make balanced business trade‑offs.
- Data‑driven decision making skills.
- Proficiency with technology tools that enable demand planning, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Knowledge of Finance, Sales, Marketing, and R&D functions in a consumer package goods business.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Demand planning experience within the appliances industry or equivalent consumer business.
- Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) or Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster (ACPF) or similar forecasting certifications.
- Experience or certification in Six Sigma/Lean, Value Stream Mapping and visualization tools.
Office and manufacturing environment; occasional weekend or evening work; up to 10% travel to plants, suppliers, etc.
