Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial operations, supporting various accounting processes, and collaborating closely with the Assistant Controller. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process cash applications and ensure timely and accurate posting of payments.

- Reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies.

- Manage billing activities, including preparing invoices and resolving billing concerns.

- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks to support smooth financial operations.

- Assist the Assistant Controller with month-end close procedures, ensuring compliance with financial standards.

- Utilize accounting software, such as Computer Ease, to streamline processes and maintain data integrity.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial documents are accurate and up-to-date.

- Analyze financial data to provide insights and support decision-making processes.

- Maintain organized and accessible records to facilitate audits and reporting requirements. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

- Familiarity with Computer Ease or similar accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of cash applications, billing processes, and financial reconciliations.

- Experience managing accounts payable and receivable functions.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environment.
