We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of payroll-related financial data, overseeing general ledger interfaces, and reconciling complex payroll batches. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and a high level of proficiency in Excel.
Location: Louisville, KY (40222) – Onsite
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Potential for Overtime)
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities- G/L Management: Prepare and post interfaces and journals for payroll general ledger accounting.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll batches from ADPGL against journals interfaced and posted into the general ledger to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Reporting: Conduct thorough reviews of payroll reports and maintain general ledger oversight.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including accounting teams, IT departments, payroll processors, and ADPGL support.
- Audit & Accuracy: Identify discrepancies in payroll data and execute timely resolutions.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).
- Experience: Previous experience in payroll accounting or a related financial role is highly preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.). - Knowledge of ADPGL and Oracle Fusion is considered a significant plus.
- Analytical
Skills:
Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and manage high-volume financial interfaces. - Communication: Ability to communicate technical financial information clearly to various departments.
This is an onsite position located at our office in Louisville (805 N Whittington Parkway). Candidates must be comfortable working a standard business week with the flexibility to work overtime as required by payroll cycles or month-end deadlines.
