Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and is responsible for providing high-level support to the finance team and the company through the management of the company’s general ledger and accounting functions. Responsibilities include account reconciliations, managing the monthly close cycle, assisting with financial reporting, and assuring the accuracy of financial records.

Essential Functions

• Manages the accuracy of the general ledger in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Proactively identifies and corrects accounting inaccuracies.
• Assists with development of policies and procedures to simplify processes and strengthen controls.
• Assists Controller with realizing accounting team goals.
• Assists with preparing various financial reports.
• Assists with financial audits and bank examinations.
• Assists with improvement projects and results monitoring.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (master’s preferred)
• Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or similar role
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a standard office environment and tour a manufacturing facility on occasion.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret information, instructions, and data.
