Project Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant for a high-impact, short-term contract engagement in Louisville. This is an ideal opportunity for a junior-level professional, a recent graduate looking to build their resume, or a seasonal tax professional seeking a steady project through the Q1 financial cycle.

Location: 805 N Whittington Pkwy, Floors 2–4, Louisville, KY 40222

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Duration: 6 week contract (Potential for brief extension)

• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ledger Management: Prepare monthly journal entries for billing, oversee the general ledger, and provide critical audit support.
• Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy.
• Compliance & Tax: Create necessary tax and regulatory filings.
• Advisory: Provide guidance on cost accounting issues and analytical insights to the team.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with both internal departments and external clients to resolve billing or accounting queries.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

  Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Analytical Ability: Strong quantitative skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Experience: Open to junior-level candidates, recent graduates with internship experience, or seasoned professionals with a background in tax.
• Communication: Ability to maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• This is a contract-only position.
• Current budget approval supports this role through mid-March
