Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves managing financial processes such as cash applications, account reconciliations, billing, and accounts payable/receivable. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Assistant Controller to support month-end closing procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Process cash applications and ensure timely allocation of payments.

- Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Handle billing operations and resolve any discrepancies effectively.

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Assist the Assistant Controller with month-end closing tasks and financial reporting.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Computer Ease software to analyze and organize financial data.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for audits and compliance purposes.

- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency.

- Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and address inquiries.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and data management.

- Familiarity with Computer Ease or similar accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of cash applications, billing, and financial reconciliation.

- Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly within a team environment.
