Assistant Controller | Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the general ledger, internal controls, month-end close, and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and proven leadership capabilities.

Note: This role does not include inventory or cost accounting responsibilities.

• Oversee and manage general ledger accounting
  , including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

• Assist with year-end audit preparation and serve as a key contact for external auditors

• Support the Controller in financial reporting, analysis, and documentation

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities

• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, promoting accuracy and efficiency

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and internal reporting requirements

• Support special projects and other finance initiatives as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

• CPA or CMA required

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  , preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting

• Proven experience managing the month-end close and general ledger process

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/general ledger systems
