Job Summary

The Web Applications & Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the stability, optimization, and continuous improvement of Alpen’s internal business applications, ERP platform, and reporting systems. This role owns Salesforce administration, supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the company’s ERP (migrating from Quick Books), and develops reliable reporting and data pipelines using SQL, SSRS, and Power BI.

This role focuses on operational reliability, system usability, data integrity, and scalable automation rather than sales operations strategy. The role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Leadership to ensure systems enable efficient execution and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and provide ongoing support for Salesforce, including users, roles, permissions, objects, workflows, validation rules, and data integrity.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the company’s core ERP platform, including user access, configurations, extensions, reporting, and integrations.
  • Support the ERP migration from Quick Books to Dynamics 365 Business Central, including data validation, reconciliation, reporting parity, and user enablement.
  • Support internal web-based applications and SaaS platforms used across Sales, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and operational reports for leadership and business teams.
  • Design, build, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports for operational, financial, and executive reporting.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers to support reporting, integrations, automation, and data integrity.
  • Build and maintain data models, transformations, refresh schedules, and metric definitions.
  • Monitor and resolve data quality issues, reconciliation gaps, and reporting discrepancies across systems.
  • Support integrations between Salesforce, Dynamics 365 Business Central, manufacturing systems, and other business platforms.
  • Troubleshoot automation workflows, data sync failures, API-related issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Manage user access, security permissions, and license utilization across applications.
  • Document system architecture, data models, workflows, data definitions, and support procedures.
  • Serve as escalation point for application issues impacting business operations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, dashboards, and process improvements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, sandbox testing, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years supporting business applications, analytics platforms, ERP systems, or internal systems.
  • Hands‑on experience administering Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable ERP platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills including complex joins, aggregations, views, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience building and maintaining SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
  • Experience building dashboards and data models in Power BI.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and system integrations.
  • Experience supporting web applications and SaaS platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills and documentation discipline.
  • Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to learning and problem resolution.
Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the VP of Technology and collaborates closely with both the IT team and Alpen’s software operations group.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $75k to $112k per year, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Includes a full benefits package—medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and holidays.
