Overview
As a Technical Consultant, you will work with a cross-functional team to provide enterprise system support to Esri customers with more complex and growing GIS deployments. You will deploy and support ArcGIS deployments in AWS/Azure, automate and streamline operations, build and maintain deployment, monitoring, and operations tools, and optimize processes to troubleshoot and resolve issues in customer environments. You will also research and develop solutions using new cloud technologies to add value to existing deployments and develop new offerings.
The position requires strong technical expertise, customer-facing skills, and the ability to learn quickly while supporting complex enterprise implementations.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team to deploy cloud solutions for diverse customers (commercial, utility, natural resources, federal, state, local government, etc.).
- Deploy, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise-based solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Implement and validate solution changes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges.
- Engage with development, QA, and product teams to bring cases to resolution.
- Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis.
- Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support.
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise GIS solutions/systems leveraging the ArcGIS platform (desktop, enterprise, online).
- Proficiency with Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related desktop extensions.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact with customers who may not have an IT background.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly.
- US citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related STEM field.
- 1+ years of experience designing, administering, and/or maintaining cloud environments (Azure or AWS) supporting 24x7 high-availability production environments.
- Experience hosting business-critical production environments with high uptime SLAs.
- Experience configuring and deploying software onto managed Kubernetes clusters; thorough understanding of Kubernetes concepts.
- Programming/scripting experience with Python, Power Shell.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Postgre
SQL and/or other RDBMS. - Experience working in change-regulated environments (development, staging, production).
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related STEM field.

Base salary is one component of total rewards; compensation takes into account skills, experience, and other business needs.
A reasonable base salary range is USD $82,160 – $138,320.
