Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Substance Use Disorder Counselor, but not looking for full-time work? We are looking for a Substance Use Counselor/Addictions Counselor to provide counseling services to our in-patient and/or out-patient population on a PRN (as needed) basis.

Due to State and Federal regulations, we are unable to consider any applicant who does not have the following certification and education:

  • CAS II, ADDC Required. Must have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. If you have a LAC (Preferred) you must have a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.

Centennial Peaks Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Denver-metro area for more than 30 years. Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness including chemical dependency. Centennial Peaks offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities. Our dynamic leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department.

Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

Substance Use Disorder Counselor Details:

  • Will be responsible for providing direct patient care for adult patients struggling with substance abuse.
  • SUDC will work closely with the patient and treatment team to develop a therapeutic plan for the patient.
  • This position provides direct clinical care through group therapy and developing relapse prevention plans.
  • Complete Addiction Severity Index Assessments (ASI’s) for all dual diagnosis and detox patients.
  • Make discharge recommendations.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and other evidence based skills to work with patients experiencing addiction to engage them in the recovery process.
  • Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning, team meetings or other means to coordinate care for patients.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications & Experience
  • CAS II, ADDC Required. Must have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. If you have a LAC (Preferred) you must have a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field Required.
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • One-year experience working with psychiatric mental health population, and/or chemically dependent population preferred.
