POSITION SUMMARY

Servtech, A Roeslein Company, is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer IV to join our team in the energy, mining, industrial power markets, and Integrated bio-energy solutions. This individual must have the desire to perform quality work safely, be detail-oriented, and have superior customer focus. This individual must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

As a Electrical Power Engineer IV, you will support the design, engineering, procurement, and product life cycle management of large-scale custom manufactured industrial equipment. The Electrical Power Engineer will focus on 3 Phase Power Distribution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designing 3 phase power systems
  • Using AutoCAD (Electrical AutoCAD preferred) to review and create:
    • Power one-line diagram
    • Wiring diagrams (protective relays)
    • Cable/conduit schedules
    • Creation of BOMs
    • Conductor and raceway sizing
  • Sizing and selection of power distribution equipment including:
    • LV & MV Switchgear
    • Protection Relays
    • Motor control centers
    • Panel boards
    • Transformers
    • Lighting panels
    • Other electrical equipment
  • Work with 480 VACs to 38kV 3-phase systems and equipment
  • Reviewing client specifications to ensure appropriate equipment is selected for the application
  • Reviewing and vetting vendor proposals to ensure quoted equipment meets the project requirements
  • Performing fault current studies and ensuring fault currents are coordinated
  • Knowledge and experience with the National Electric Code for sizing and implementation of conductors, raceways, equipment clearances, and other code requirements.
  • Support other engineers to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • This position will be expected to troubleshoot issues and train a Power Engineer I or II and III position.
  • Review team member's work for quality and recognition of training requirements
  • This position is expected to have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of power generation systems are essential. Familiarity with automated or computerized control systems is also beneficial.
  • Understanding of SCADA and automated control systems is preferred
  • Understanding protection relay schemes and controls.
  • Knowledge of power systems studies and various mitigation techniques for common power quality issues is preferred
  • Must have knowledge of IEEE 519 requirements and mitigating techniques.
  • Must be able to understand and specify medium voltage equipment, to include switch gear, MCCs, VFDs, contractors and protective devices.
  • Must be able to present to clients and key stakeholders in a professional and technical manner
  • Will be expected to use power systems experience to adjust client specifications to improve designs
  • Prepare technical proposals and discipline plans to meet project requirements
  • Be the point of contact for the electrical engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams on continuous improvement opportunities
