Servtech, A Roeslein Company, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and design team in our manufacturing facilities for the energy, mining, industrial power markets, and integrated bio-energy solutions. The leader must perform quality work safely, be detail-oriented, and have superior customer focus while operating within project budgets. This role requires collaboration with the production department, project management group, electrical engineering group, procurement, and human resources.
The Engineering Manager will lead, develop, and continuously improve the engineering and design team to complete engineering and design efforts for project design, engineering, procurement, drafting, and product life cycle management of large-scale manufactured industrial equipment.

- Interview, select, and train new employees; develop the team and provide feedback for annual performance evaluations.
- Escalate employee issues and company violations; deliver disciplinary actions with Human Resources support.
- Ensure work complies with company standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the point of contact for the team; troubleshoot issues promptly to avoid delays.
- Identify safety situations and report issues in a timely manner.
- Promote a positive working environment to achieve organizational goals.
- Meet deadlines while safely producing a quality product.
- Collaborate with the production manager to set and adjust pay rates and hours of work; plan and direct the work of employees.
- Attend manager meetings, training, and safety meetings as required.
- Manage schedules across mechanical, electrical, and production teams; coordinate with procurement and design teams.
- Assist in selecting and sizing equipment for fluid handling systems (pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, etc.).
- Provide technical guidance on safety, manufacturability, reliability, and budget adherence.
- Review industry standards (ASME, ANSI, NEC, NFPA, ASTM) and customer specifications to guide designs.
- Revise and write formal procedures to guide the engineering department; liaise between engineering/design and production teams.
- Act as an independent project manager for key accounts as required.
- Procure and manage equipment arrivals with an on-time delivery mindset.
- Perform calculations to ensure safe, correct, and economical designs; select appropriate engineered equipment.
- Prepare and review project proposals, price lists, part numbers, and equipment data.
- Lead the creation of 3D Solid Works layouts, P&IDs, structural drawings, and mechanical assemblies to support production.
- Coordinate with manufacturing on fabrication and installation; contact vendors for pricing and availability.
- Compile and review equipment data for client submittals; ensure facility layouts support maintenance, reliability, and serviceability.
- Review drawings for accuracy and intended function; create milestones and Gantt schedules for client submissions and interdepartmental communications.
- Communicate with clients for project updates and technical questions.
- Coordinate material take-offs for fabrication and installation of systems.
- Perform duties in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with safety and company requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field is required.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in engineering design is required.
- Five (5) or more years in a management role is preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years as an independent project manager is required.
- Eight (8) or more years of Solid Works experience is required.
- Eight (8) or more years of oil & gas surface equipment experience is required.
- Eight (8) or more years of mechanical systems and components experience (pumps, piping, instrumentation) is required.
- EIT registration is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to manage time and resources effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to lead and mentor engineers.
