About the Role
The Director, Electrical Engineering, will be responsible for building and executing strategies within the electrical engineering function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience managing large engineering teams and complex technical projects, as well as the ability to interact with executive-level management. The Director will oversee the activities of the electrical engineering program, technical area, or multiple integrated teams, ensuring operational effectiveness, technical innovation, and value creation.
This position demands a strong commitment to upholding company values, supporting organizational changes, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory compliance, along with strong financial acumen and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
The Director, Electrical Engineering, is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the electrical engineering function, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Core responsibilities include:
- Electrical Integration - spacecraft electrical architecture, ICDs, grounding/bonding
- Avionics Engineering - electronics, flight computers, sensor interfaces
- Power Systems Engineering - power generation, storage, regulation, distribution
- Harness Engineering - cable routing, connectorization, harness design rules
This role leads the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems while ensuring technical excellence and innovation. The Director is accountable for delivering projects on cost and on schedule, maintaining a consistent focus on value creation and quality assurance. They drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and solutions, while overseeing the activities of the electrical engineering team or multiple integrated departments to ensure operational effectiveness and technical success.
Collaborating closely with senior management, the Director establishes strategic plans and objectives, translating organizational strategy into functional engineering plans and ensuring their successful implementation. They provide leadership to engineering managers and teams, fostering professional development and alignment with business goals. Additionally, the Director manages engineering budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Acting as a key liaison with internal and external executive-level stakeholders, the Director represents the electrical engineering function in strategic discussions and decision-making processes.
