- Provide ongoing support for production test stations, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Implement and manage changes to production test stations, including hardware and software updates, validation, and documentation in accordance with the Operational Test & Evaluation (OTE) Process.
- Analyze data to support problem solving and monitor day operative KPIs.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows OS environments and network communications within production systems.
- Apply knowledge of common communication and signaling standards (e.g., RS232/422, 4‑20mA) in instrumentation and measurement systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into existing workflows and systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including change records, validation reports, and work instructions.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, digitalization, and tooling upgrades.
- Provide technical leadership in the use of Vaisala Production Systems (VPS) tools and methodologies.
- Mentor team members in technical problem‑solving and continuous improvement practices.
- Basic programming and scripting skills, particularly in C#.
- Advanced data analysis and statistical competence.
- Experience with instrumentation, optics, and measurement technologies.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, electronics, and sensor calibration.
- Understanding of production systems and test automation.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. Degrees in related technical disciplines may also be considered based on relevant experience.
- Coursework or certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Engineering or Automation Technologies are advantageous and may strengthen a candidate’s qualifications.
- Experience or coursework in electronics, embedded software, and/or sensor calibration is highly desirable, given the technical nature of Vaisala’s weather and environmental measurement products.
