POSITION SUMMARYEngineering Manager to lead our manufacturing facilities team, ensuring quality, safety, and customer focus within project budgets. Must act independently or as team member, collaborate with production, project management, electrical engineering, procurement, and HR.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Represent the organization as a role model, adhering to company standards and resolving issues urgently.
- Maintain compliance with Roeslein & Associates’ core values for safe, efficient operations.
- Interview, select, train new employees; develop the team and provide feedback for evaluations.
- Escalate employee issues and violations; deliver discipline with HR support.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Respond in a timely manner to troubleshoot issues and prevent delays.
- Identify safety situations and report promptly.
- Promote a positive work environment to achieve organizational goals.
- Meet deadlines while safely producing quality products.
- Set and adjust employees’ rates of pay and hours of work in collaboration with the production manager.
- Plan and direct employee work; manage own schedule and help engineers prioritize tasks.
- Attend manager, training, and safety meetings as required.
- Oversee engineering and design schedule regularly.
- Align mechanical and electrical engineering schedules with production.
- Assist the engineering team in selecting and sizing equipment for fluid handling systems.
- Act as a technical resource and decision maker guiding designs for safety, manufacturability, reliability, and budgets.
- Review industry documents (ASME, ANSI, NEC, NFPA, ASTM, customer specifications) to guide designs.
- Revise and write formal procedures for the engineering department.
- Serve as liaison between engineering/design and production.
- Act as an independent project manager for key accounts as needed.
- Manage procurement and ensure on‑time equipment delivery.
- Perform calculations for safe, correct, economical designs.
- Select engineered equipment for product design.
- Review/create spreadsheets and bid documents with pricing and equipment data.
- Review/create project proposals for clients.
- Direct team to create 3D Solid Works layouts, P&IDs, structural, and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Coordinate with the manufacturing shop for fabricated, pre‑assembled, and manufactured system designs.
- Contact vendors for pricing and availability.
- Compile and review equipment data for client submittal.
- Guide facility layouts for maintenance, reliability, and serviceability.
- Review mechanical and electrical manufacturing drawings for accuracy.
- Ensure drawing details are accurate, standardized, and complete.
- Create milestone and Gantt charts for client and inter‑departmental communication.
- Communicate with clients for project updates and technical questions.
- Coordinate material take‑offs for fabrication and installation of prefabricated systems.
- Operate safely, following company safety and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, technical engineering, math, or science.
- 8+ years engineering design experience.
- 5+ years management experience (preferred).
- 8+ years independent project management experience.
- 8+ years Solid Works experience.
- 8+ years O&G surface equipment experience.
- 8+ years mechanical systems experience (pumps, piping, instrumentation).
- EIT registration preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to learn new knowledge and skills quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team‑oriented collaborator and leader.
- Proactive communicator managing customer and vendor relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Engineers and designers of O&G surface equipment beyond basic level.
- Solid Works and AutoCAD 3D/2D drafting experience beyond basic level.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience preferred.
