Overview
The Staff Accountant assists the Controller and CFO in performing day‑to‑day accounting functions for MIC, including preparation of documentation, reconciliations, and account‑level analysis. The role supports the Finance Team in maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. It is a part‑time position, 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities- Analyze, troubleshoot, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, corrective entries, and month‑end work papers.
- Understand SOX guidelines and maintain controls to meet compliance standards.
- Review Accounts Payable batches, checks, and corporate deliverables.
- Reconcile cash transactions and maintain fixed‑asset records.
- Research state sales and use tax regulations and review tax returns.
- Obtain and organize information for internal and external audits.
- Assist various departments with accounting‑related functions and special projects.
- Review vendor setups and provide assistance to HR, PMs, or administrative staff.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Audit experience is a plus.
- Experience with construction software such as Viewpoint, Spectrum, or Vista is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Viewpoint and Excel.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and solve problems.
- Proficiency in stakeholder interaction at all organizational levels.
- Compensation: $40,000 - $42,000 per year (part‑time), commensurate with experience.
