. The position is based in the Warehouse District of the Loews New Orleans Hotel, supporting the storeroom and receiving functions.
- Perform receiving activities according to accepted procedures, verifying receipt of materials and supplies per purchase order documents.
- Transport materials to appropriate storage area in a timely manner.
- Complete computerized receiving reports and transmit receiving documentation to Shared Services.
- Notify Storeroom Supervisor and Purchasing of any receiving‑related discrepancies to facilitate credit requests, replacements, or handling of damaged or discrepant goods.
- Maintain organized purchase‑order and receiving documentation files.
- Ensure proper dating, tagging of all food products and materials placed into storeroom.
- Perform all operations necessary to maintain cleanliness and safety of the receiving area.
- Monitor temperatures in refrigerated storage areas.
- Ensure storeroom cleanliness and adherence to all food‑safety sanitation requirements.
- Assist in the performance of monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories.
- Attend required hotel meetings to keep abreast of in‑house activities, promotions, and events; maintain communications with other departments.
- Attend departmental meetings as required to communicate effectively with all Storeroom/Receiving personnel to ensure that they are kept current with pertinent hotel information and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of meat, produce, seafood, and grocery specifications and standard grading classifications.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment; typing 25 wpm.
- Working knowledge of computer software including inventory control, Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be available Thursday–Sunday; 10‑hour shifts and variable shifts during the week.
