Overview
United Trades of America is seeking Flaggers to join our team in Metairie, LA
. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety-conscious and ready to work in dynamic environments. Flaggers play a critical role in directing traffic, ensuring the safety of workers, drivers, and pedestrians around construction and maintenance zones.
- Traffic Control: Direct and manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction sites using hand signals, signs, and other communication methods.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with other crew members, drivers, and pedestrians to ensure safe passage through work zones.
- Safety First: Prioritize the safety of the public and construction team by following strict safety guidelines and regulations.
- Monitoring: Be vigilant and proactive in identifying any potential hazards or unsafe conditions and report them promptly.
- Adaptability: Work in various weather conditions and adjust traffic patterns as needed.
- Experience: Prior experience as a flagger or in traffic control is preferred but not required. Training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Certifications: A flagger certification is a plus, but not mandatory. Candidates must be willing to undergo any necessary training or certification.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and react quickly in high-traffic situations.
- Compliance: Must be able to pass a background check and drug testing

Good verbal communication skills to give clear instructions to drivers and crew members.
Job Site: Metairie, LA — work will primarily be in this region, though travel to nearby areas may be required for certain projects.
