The City of Clinton, Iowa (population 24,469) is currently accepting applications for the positions of part-time fixed route and paratransit drivers.

Duties include but are not limited to: transporting passengers within the City on the fixed routed, transporting eligible passengers door-to-door within the City including its commercial zones and out of town trips (paratransit), the ability to maintain a schedule, providing good customer service, providing maintenance support for the transit department and providing clerical support for the department at times.

• High school diploma/GED.
• United States citizen.
• Iowa resident upon employment.
• Must maintain access to a means of communication.
• Possession of a valid Iowa CDL B with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements at time of employment and throughout period of employment.
• Subject to a thorough criminal background investigation.
• Must have acceptable motor vehicle driving record. .
• No OWI violation with driver’s license revocation under a test refusal within the last ten years or; OWI violation when tested in excess of the legal limit within the last ten years.
• Subject to DOT physical exam including drug testing and functional task capacity testing after job offer.
• Smoking is prohibited by Iowa code on any transit vehicle.
• Bus driver experience desirable along with sales, customer relations or social services experiences.
