The Tenants Rights Unit Social Worker provides social work services in the SLLS New Orleans office, serving Orleans Parish. Providing intensive, individualized, and holistic representation to clients facing eviction, termination from housing assistance programs, and/or other housing instability with the goal of preventing eviction/loss of housing, helping stabilize families, and ensuring access to safe and healthy housing. The social worker assists attorneys in diverting evictions, preventing homelessness, and supporting housing stability.
Qualifications- Graduate-level social work degree from an accredited school of social work
- Licensure or certification to practice masters-level social work in Louisiana (LMSW/LCSW) or eligibility to obtain such in the immediate future
Based on years of experience and licensure, the starting salary for a social worker is MSW $42,469 – $69,469, LMSW $45,469 -$72,469, and LCSW $49,875 – $76,875.
Additional compensation for fluency in one or more languages other than English, which is regularly used in the position and needed by the program.
