Surface Mine Groundsman​/Equipment Operator

Western Engineering Co Inc is seeking a dedicated and skilled Surface Mine Groundsman / Equipment Operator to join our team. In this hands‑on role, you will play a crucial part in our mining operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in the extraction and processing of materials. Your responsibilities will include operating a variety of heavy equipment, maintaining safe working conditions, and assisting in the daily operations at the site.

• Operate heavy machinery, including loaders, excavators, and haul trucks, in the surface mining environment
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
• Support the mine crew in various tasks, including material handling and site cleanup
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operations and needs
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs to stay informed about best practices and procedures

• Previous experience as a groundsman or equipment operator in a mining or construction setting is preferred
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and adapt to changing work environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.
