About you and this role - What you will do in this role

We are looking for the next Maintenance Instrument Technician to support Zone 3 in Plaquemine, LA. As the Maintenance Instrument Technician, you provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

- Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
  • Diagnose and correct equipment problems.
  • Calibrate and align equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities.
  • Check sizing of components and parts.
  • Specify, requisition, and install parts and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance spare parts.
  • Assist in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
  • Set up and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
  • Repair, maintain and install equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and document failure analysis.
  • Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Work within established Maintenance Work Processes and help resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
  • Participates in startup coverage, weekend callout, and night shift work as needed.
Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma and one or more of the following:
    • An associate’s degree or higher in science or technical related discipline.
    • 3 years of relevant military training/experience accepted.
    • 3 years of relevant instrument/maintenance experience.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Physical Requirements

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Wear and use respirators.
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
Skills - Specific abilities and expertise required to perform tasks effectively in this role (must haves)
  • Instrumentation & Calibration
    :
    Proficient in setting up, calibrating, aligning, and testing pneumatic, electrical, and electronic instruments and controls.
  • Technical Troubleshooting
    :
    Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues, performing failure analysis, and implementing effective repairs.

    :
