The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman to lead essential maintenance and infrastructure operations within our facility. • Four years of experience or training in pipe fitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.
• Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience.

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of all plumbing, sewage, water distribution, and gas systems throughout the facility to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Respond to and resolve system failures or urgent maintenance needs while serving in a rotating weekend on-call capacity, ensuring continuous operational support.
• Train, supervise, and direct assigned inmate workers in performing plumbing and pipe fitting tasks, ensuring adherence to safety standards, proper tool use, and established maintenance procedures.

• Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
• Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment.
• An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
• This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
