Port Facility Maintenance Master Mechanic

Mission:

The mission of the Port of Greater Baton Rouge is to promote international and domestic commerce and facilitate economic growth within the Port region and the State of Louisiana Three years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mobile equipment; or in the operation of heavy mobile equipment, industrial machinery, construction or maintenance equipment, or transportation or materials handling equipment.

• Responsible for the automotive maintenance needs of the port.
• Performs preventative maintenance of all port motor vehicles. This includes both gasoline and diesel engines.
• Responsible for the clean-up and maintenance of the mechanic shop.
• Maintains proper inventory of maintenance supplies, including oils, grease, filters, fuels, welding supplies, and other maintenance equipment.

Appointment Type: Probational

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

All individuals employed by the Greater   Port Commission must have or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
