Industrial Journeyman Scaffold Builders will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal scaffolds and auxiliary structures related to scaffold.

• Must be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on Scaffolding.
• Must meet all physical requirements.
• Must follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must have all required tools.
• Must have reliable transportation.

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and precautions required.
• Measure, mark, and cut required materials to specification.
• Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Build and construct wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks, steps, bulletin boards, and other wooden structures.
• Perform clean‑up/house‑keeping of work areas.

• 4+ years as a Scaffold Builder or Scaffold Builder Helper on an industrial construction project.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and drawings.
• Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes for basic building techniques and form construction.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work full schedule and overtime as needed.
• Willingness to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Adherence to company and site rules and regulations.
• Required tools.

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Prior experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Formal/Technical education.
• Experience with scaffolding, insulation, and painting.

This position does not have direct reports but works closely with and oversees helper and labor positions.

• Large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
• Communication requires talking and hearing.
• Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects.
• May lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, and occasionally using fall protection.
• Work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Required PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi‑vis vests, leather gloves, and steel‑toed boots.
