Pipefitter
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled Pipefitter for Geismar, LA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to fabricate, assemble, and maintain pipe systems in industrial settings like chemical plants and refineries.

Pay Rate
$15.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, isometric (ISO) drawings, and fitting specifications to determine the scope of work, including material locations, quantities, and sizes
• Measure, cut and install a variety of pipes and fittings using tools like saws, cutters, and threading machines - work may involve threaded, welded, or socket weld pipe, including stainless steel and carbon steel
• Install components such as valves, flanges, gauges, hangers, and supports
• Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping system
• Work safely in all parts of a construction or maintenance site, including around structures, tanks, and boilers, and at heights
• Must be able to install all sizes of underground pipe
• Must be able to install steam and heat tracing

Qualifications and Requirements

• Pipe fitting experience required
• Ability to use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents like blueprints
• Must work in confined spaces and at heights
• Must be able to push/pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with supervisors and co-workers
• A valid TWIC card may be required for roles in specific environments like petrochemical plants
• Must be familiar with basic rigging and hoisting techniques
