** Job Description
** The starting pay range for this position begins at $19.44/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Reserve: a position averaging 20 hours a week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year).Schedule will vary based on business need, which may result in a 2nd or 3rd shift pay differential.

The Company Police Officer is responsible for operating within all functions and operations of the Biltmore Company Police Department in the enforcement of North Carolina laws and regulations, the prevention of crime, and protection of life and property. Work involves vehicle and foot patrol of the property, investigations and wildlife management.
** Requirements:
** 1. High school diploma required.
** Candidates must have current North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification.
** 2. All experience levels considered with required NC BLET certification. The preferred candidate will have had prior experience in law enforcement to include experience in a guest service setting.  
3. Basic knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, practices, procedures, and techniques of police operations required.  
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with a range of audiences, as well as comply with company, state, and local reporting requirements.  
5. Proficiency Microsoft Word and with computers and the handling of electronic data; must be able to quickly acquire knowledge of Biltmore’s reporting systems and protocols.  
6. Must have or be able to obtain First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications.  
7. Must have a valid NC Driver's License with clean driving record & be at least 18 years of age

7. The employee must be able to pursue fleeing suspects and perform rescue operations which may involve quickly entering and exiting law enforcement patrol vehicles; lifting, carrying, and dragging heavy objects; climbing over and pulling oneself over obstacles; jumping down from elevated surfaces; climbing through openings; jumping over obstacles, ditches and streams; crawling in confined areas; balancing on uneven or narrow surfaces and using body force to gain entrance through barriers.
8. The employee must be able to operate a law enforcement vehicle during both day and night; in emergency situations involving speeds in excess of posted limits; in congested traffic, and in unsafe road conditions caused by factors such as fog, rain, ice and snow.
