Court Security Officer

Job Overview

The Louisiana Supreme Court, located in the French Quarter, seeks applicants with a minimum of three years of law enforcement experience for the position of Court Security Officer. Candidates must be able to work flexible days, shifts, and holidays.

• Current Peace Officers Standards Training (P.O.S.T.) certificate from an accredited Louisiana police academy.
• Strong investigative and report‑writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and successful background check.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license.
• Ability to pass skills testing and, if required, travel occasionally.

• Perform law‑enforcement related duties to ensure safety and protection of judicial personnel and visitors on site.
• Make rounds for the inspection and security of the facility, grounds, and parking areas as needed.
• Screen building entrants via electronic screening stations and security card access systems.
• Operate video surveillance systems to monitor premises.
• Provide personal protective details on occasion and write incident reports as needed.
