Starting / Initial Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$38.46 per hour ($40,000–$80,000 per year).
Commission Structure:
- 50%–150% of one month’s monthly recurring charges (MRCs)
- 1/12 of one‑time non‑recurring charges (NRCs)
- 1/24 of burst revenue
Tenured Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$48.07 per hour ($40,000–$100,000 per year), based on structured tenure and performance‑based pay increases.
Specific offers are tailored by experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.
Responsibilities- Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting, focusing on mid‑market and non‑named national account segments (up to 500–999 employees).
- Qualify and generate new opportunities through direct calling, email, and other outreach to key decision makers.
- Augment prospecting and selling through field activities such as building walks, lobby events, property management relationships, and customer face‑to‑face meetings.
- Leverage consultative selling techniques to assess current and future connectivity needs.
- Position Cogent’s services for new business among customers and prospects.
- Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into the nation’s largest commercial and retail buildings, office parks, and professional campuses.
- Previous sales experience (recent history strongly preferred) with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business via extensive prospecting and research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a CRM system is a plus.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
This is an in‑office position five days a week to best support success, with focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
