Job SummaryThe barista is responsible for mastering the craft of all beverage and food items offered by PJ’s Coffee. The barista creates a positive environment for customers and staff, provides fast, efficient, and friendly service, protects the PJ’s brand and store reputation, and demonstrates a commitment to PJ’s core values. The role supports personal growth and advancement within the company.
Responsibilities- Present a positive image of PJ's customers and coworkers
- Proactively suggest new beverages, drink enhancements, snacks, and pastries
- Prepare all beverages and food to meet PJ’s Coffee specifications
- Ensure exceptional customer service and store upkeep
- Follow cash handling procedures accurately
- Maintain daily shift checklists, par levels, sanitation standards
- Notify management of operational needs and equipment issues
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Attend training sessions to increase coffee knowledge and skills
- Barista experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Outgoing and engaging personality
- Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, team environment
- Proficiency in various communication channels (email, phone, project management software, conference calls)
Compensation: $8.00 - $14.00 per hour
