We are committed to delivering high-quality, code-compliant products that meet rigorous client and regulatory standards.

Job Summary The Director of Quality Control is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire quality management system in our pipe fabrication operations. This position ensures that all fabricated piping products, including welded spools, pressure vessels, and related components, adhere to industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API), client specifications, and internal quality protocols. The Director will lead a team of quality professionals, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and mitigate risks to maintain operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Control (QC) team, including inspectors, technicians, document controllers, and coordinators. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a culture of quality and accountability. Manage team resources based on project demand.
  • Quality System Development and Maintenance:
Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures for welding (WPS/PQR), non-destructive testing (NDT), and material traceability. Ensure compliance with relevant codes such as ASME Section IX for welding, ASME B31.3 for process piping, and other applicable standards.
  • Inspections and Audits:
Oversee daily inspections of raw materials, in-process fabrication (e.g., welding, fitting, cutting, paint, PWHT), and finished products. Conduct regular internal audits, supplier evaluations, and third-party audits to identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance and Certification:
Manage certification processes (e.g., ASME stamps, ISO 9001) and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Prepare for and support client audits, regulatory inspections, and code compliance reviews.
  • Problem Resolution and Continuous Improvement:
Serve as the primary resource for quality issue identification, root cause analysis, and resolution. Drive initiatives for process improvements, defect reduction, and cost savings using tools like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports. Generate quality metrics, reports, and dashboards for senior management to monitor performance and trends.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with estimating, production, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to integrate quality requirements into fabrication processes. Liaise with clients on quality-related matters and specifications.
  • Risk Management:

Identify potential quality risks in fabrication operations and develop mitigation strategies, including welder qualifications and material certifications.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); advanced degree or certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, CWI - Certified Welding Inspector) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in quality control/assurance within manufacturing, preferably in pipe fabrication, welding, or pressure vessel industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME codes, welding procedures, NDT methods (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT, VT), and piping standards.
  • Proven leadership experience managing QC teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with teams, clients, and auditors.
