Associate Analytical Technician – Plaquemine, LA
About this roleThe Analytical Technician provides analytical data to support product release and process optimization. This role supports a plant MPQ (Manage Product Quality) lab.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and non-routine analyses on analytical equipment such as Gas Chromatography (GC), titrations, and spectrometry.
- Document, communicate, and archive results using IT software and electronic tools such as Chromatography Data Systems (Open Lab).
- Understand and execute procedures, policies, and work processes such as Environmental Health & Safety, Operating Discipline Management Systems (ODMS), quality procedures, and Analytical Work Process (AWP).
- Perform basic calibration and maintenance of analytical systems.
- Monitor analytical systems.
- High School Diploma and one or more of the following:
- Associate's degree in a science discipline or related with at least 20 hours in chemistry.
- 3+ years of relevant military experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Able to work in an empowered team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
- Legal to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
- Bachelor's degree in a science related discipline.
- Experience with electronic tools such as Chromatography Data System (Open Lab).
- Experience with analytical disciplines such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titrations, and physical property testing.
- Analytical Instrumentation Proficiency – Routine and non-routine analyses using GC, titrations, and spectrometry.
- Technical Documentation & IT Tools – Documentation and communication using Chromatography Data Systems (Open Lab) and Microsoft Office.
- Process & Safety Compliance – Execution of Environmental Health & Safety, ODMS, and AWP procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance – Calibration, maintenance, and monitoring of analytical systems.
- Teamwork & Communication – Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork in a rotating shift environment.
- Lift, push, and pull.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand 50% of the time.
- Walk for extended periods.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirator.
