Park Technician -C

Overview

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing, and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance, and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

This position is located at Lake Claiborne State Park in Homer, LA.

• Perform custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of park facilities.
• Stock cabins and lodges with cleaning supplies and household items.
• Assist with linens, prep for laundry service, stocking supplies for next use, etc.
• Clean bathroom facilities, cabins, meeting rooms, lodges, nature center, pool area, etc.
• Assist with maintaining park grounds such as mowing grass, blowing off walkways and porches, collecting litter, removing limbs and debris, trail maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist customers with inquiries over the phone or in person.
• Check-in guests for day use and overnight stays; collect payments and make reservations.

No experience or training required.

• Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Detail to Special Duty
• Location: Lake Claiborne State Park, in Homer, LA
• Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
• Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
• Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or
  
  C.
