Job Summary:
The Director of Resident Care is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of resident care services within Padua House and the Community Home. This position ensures that residents receive quality, person-centered care that meets regulatory standards and promotes dignity, safety, and well-being. The Director provides leadership and supervision to nursing and direct care staff, develops and implements individualized care plans, and monitors clinical outcomes to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Additionally, the Director collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to address care needs, support staff training and professional development.
- Oversee and coordinate all resident care services to ensure high quality, person-centered care.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate nursing and direct care staff to ensure compliance with care standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Monitor resident health outcomes and adjust care plans as needed to meet changing needs.
- Develop medical policies/procedures and standard operating procedures for LPN and DSP positions.
- Assist with interviews and recruitment of medical staff.
- Assists with admits and discharges.
- Conduct new hire trainings and staff recertifications.
- Conduct regular audits, assessments, and quality assurance reviews of resident care practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact residents, families, and healthcare providers regarding care concerns.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to support comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, treatment, and progress.
- Lead staff meetings, training, and professional development initiatives to promote best practices in care delivery.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure staff are prepared to handle urgent resident care situations.
- Evacuate with the facility residents during mandatory evacuation.
- Remain with residents during shelter in place events.
- Manage all required reports and their submission on a timely basis.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Monitor and sign off on all client medication administration records (MARs) and Physician orders.
- Complete client annual healthcare plan.
- Participate in the admissions committee team to determine placement at Padua.

- Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana to practice.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Stand , Sit, Walk, /reach with hands and arms less than 33% of time on duty.
- Use of hands to finger, handle or feel over 66% of time on duty.
- Full ability to talk and hear.
- Correctable vision required.
- Able to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.
