Position: Staff Nurse – Children’s Prep and Recovery 70% – 100%(8, and 10 hour shifts available)
Location: Iowa

Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. The Stead Family Children’s Department of Perioperative Services, Pre/Postoperative care is seeking a Staff Nurse to apply nursing theory to the assessment diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness, assess patient health care preferences and expectations, and collaboratively coordinate the continuum of care across settings. Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:
Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings. Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses.

Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response. Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan. Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care. Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Schedule

Pre/Postoperative primary working hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00 AM – 8:30 PM advertised positions will align with these hours unless otherwise stated. Pre/Postoperative staff are subject to extension of shift and an on-call rotation. Further explanation of extension of shift and on-call status will be available in the SNAHP Employee Manual. Percent of Time: 70% – 100% (based on candidate preference).

Schedule:

8, and 10-hr rotating day positions, Monday – Friday between the hours of 0600 and 2030. Occasional weekday, weekend, and holiday call.

Pay Grade: 52 - Salary: $42,828 to commensurate
* this does not include inpatient differential of $7,000 or shift differentials.
Pay Differentials:
Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Inpatient differentials up to $7,000 per year (at 70% effort).
OR Premium Pay:
Up to $7,000 (at 70% effort).
Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Required Qualifications
  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
