Overview
A Nurse Practitioner is needed for the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (LCBCD). This position is pivotal to the mission of the LCBCD in expanding its services with a concentrated initiative dedicated to the care of patients with blood disorders. This clinic will serve as a vital resource for primary and specialty providers throughout the state of Louisiana who refer patients with complex bleeding and clotting disorders.
A Nurse Practitioner with experience in pediatric/family health care is essential to establishing a comprehensive care clinic.
The LCBCD utilizes a comprehensive care model in the treatment of patients with a variety of hematologic conditions, with an emphasis on patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. We provide care for patients throughout the lifespan. We are a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, and the only such program for adults in the state of Louisiana. We have clinic locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Lafayette, and Alexandria.
The nurse practitioner will collaborate with the rest of the LCBCD team to provide exemplary care for our patients.
Candidates must qualify for appointment at the instructor level and be Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Develop programs and services focusing on the identification, diagnosis, management, and treatment of children and adolescents with bleeding and other blood disorders throughout their life span.
- Enhance the coordinated care of pediatric and adolescent patients as they transition through life stages.
- Raise awareness among the patient population to foster proper diagnosis and secure optimal treatment.
- Educate and collaborate with key healthcare providers throughout the community.
- Translate, participate in, and disseminate provider information and research.
