Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Provide pre-operative, Phase I and Phase II recovery care for pediatric and adult patients

• Care for patients across all major surgical services with exception to those requiring critical care

• Patient ratio of 1:2

• 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract

• Must be comfortable working with pediatric patients of all ages

• Work in department supporting 34 operating rooms on 2 floors

• Care for patients from endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary lab procedures

• Handle regional anesthesia and ECT procedures

• Use specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein

• Epic charting system experience required

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• Travel experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS

• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)

• Preferred PACU or Pre/Post Op experience

• Must be available for emergency team assignments during facility emergency events

• Orientation held 5 days a week with billable modules

The facility provides pre and post-operative care for a high volume of surgical cases including endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary procedures. The medical center maintains modern equipment and technology to support diverse patient populations and surgical specialties, with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services.
