This role works in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, staff, and PCCs to care for outpatient clinic patients. The position is supervised by the Medical Director or approved staff physician and involves planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care. Responsibilities include primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, teaching residents and medical students, staff development and education, patient education, and discharge planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Computer skills needed for data entry and retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication; present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency with Windows-based applications and role‑specific software.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at department, campus, and system levels.
- Reliable transportation; ability to travel between facilities.
- Availability for flexible schedules, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on‑call duties.
- Utilize approved medical practice processes in all patient care.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria for patients in assigned areas.
- Maintain an attitude of inquiry toward medical practices and patient care outcomes; may develop research methodology.
- Provide education to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and communication style.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing – required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program – required.

- Preferred: 3 years of related working experience.
- Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP certified.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP certified.
- License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Prescriptive authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
Medium work: exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly. Duties may involve walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and handling materials of negligible weight. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with manual dexterity. Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste.
Occupational risks include exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous substances.
